Update

IT Services continue to remain aware of an issue affecting UDo/Agent Portal.

This relates to the unexpected loss of tiles from the UDo/Agent Portal dashboard.

We have identified the cause of this and are working to return access as soon as possible.

In the meantime, you can take steps to ensure that your app is drawing the most up to date access by either 'refreshing' your app via the icon at the top of the mobile app (or in your web browser), or by signing out of and back into the app again.

While we continue to work on this, you can still access all key systems and services directly via the links in the initial notice below.

Transition of devices from Trend Micro Antivirus to Microsoft Defender for Endpoint

As part of our ongoing commitment to enhancing cybersecurity and ensuring the best protection for our devices and data, we are transitioning to a new anti-malware solution on staff and student devices.

On Wednesday 7th May, we will be deploying Microsoft Defender for Endpoint to all devices (both Windows and MacOS), replacing our previous solution. This industry-leading security solution offers improved threat detection, real-time protection, and streamlined management, all while being a more cost-effective approach for the University.

What This Means for You: • Rollout Date: The upgrade will begin rolling out on Wednesday 7th May2025, to all devices. • Minimal Impact: The installation will run in the background without disrupting your work. • Device Restart Required: A restart will be required within six hours of the update completing. You will have the option to snooze the restart for periods to avoid immediate disruption.

Why This Change? • Enhanced Protection: Advanced security features to better safeguard University systems. • Cost Efficiency: A more sustainable and cost-effective security solution. • Seamless Integration: Works more effectively within our existing Microsoft environment.

No action is needed from you - this upgrade will be applied automatically. A further deployment to student devices will be scheduled in the following weeks, without any action needed from students. Thank you for your cooperation as we continue to strengthen our cybersecurity measures.

Research System access issues

Some actions completed last week now show as incomplete and will need to be completed again.
