Turnitin and Turnitin UK unavailable We’ve fixed it! Due to an unexpected service outage affecting our CDN provider today, users of Turnitin and Turnitin UK may have been unable to access either service and were shown a 503 error when attempting to access the service or our main site. Users accessing these services via an integration may also have been affected. We are pleased to advise that service has been restored. Talis Aspire reading lists has been affected. The services are showing a 503 gateway error. Calls have been logged with the providers.

Turnitin service back up: Vendor has updated us saying: "Monitoring - We have implemented a solution to mitigate the issue our CDN provider is experiencing.

Users of Turnitin.com and Turnitinuk.com should now be able to access these services again. Users accessing these services via the Blackboard Basic integration should no longer be encountering issues."

We have determined that our teams and resources could better serve our clients by focusing in other areas or our portfolio, therefore, we have decided to discontinue support of Blackboard Open Education.

Panopto Internet Explorer 11 End-of-Support

Panopto Notification: "Panopto is officially going to drop support for Internet Explorer 11 effective June 26th 2021. This email has the details and getting ready for this change.

At the end of June 2020, we put Internet Explorer 11 in maintenance mode, under which Panopto would provide critical fixes as needed. As a final step, effective June 26th, Internet Explorer 11 (IE11) will no longer be supported by Panopto. This means we will no longer fix any issues users experience while using Panopto on IE11. This is necessary to allow Panopto to continue innovating on newer browser technology and prevent our users from having a severely degraded experience.

Please note, starting May 5th, users on IE 11 will see a message in the Panopto viewer, letting them know that they should plan to upgrade to a modern browser before June 26th.

Why are we making this decision? Panopto is committed to providing our customers with a video experience that inspires knowledge sharing and learning. Unfortunately, continuing to support legacy technologies like IE 11 can hinder innovation. For IE 11 support, we have elected to follow Microsoft’s lead. Many Microsoft products such as Microsoft Teams have already dropped IE 11 support and M365 support for IE11 will end in August. Today, IE11 is used by only a small number of Panopto users and those users have a degraded experience in terms of performance, accessibility, and security. We recommend Google Chrome, Apple Safari, Mozilla Firefox, or Microsoft Edge for optimal user experience.

How can you prepare? Panopto recommends IE11 users upgrade to Microsoft Edge (or another modern browser). For your other critical line-of-business apps that require IE 11, Microsoft’s recommendation is to use the Internet Explorer mode supported by Microsoft Edge. Please note, using Internet Explorer mode in the new Microsoft Edge will not help to extend IE 11 access to Panopto services beyond the dates listed above."

On Saturday, June 26, the Panopto Cloud will be updated with the latest features and improvements. These updates will require downtime. We expect up to 4 hours of downtime, with a target start time of 9:00 pm GMT/10:00 pm BST.

During the downtime, you will not be able to access videos on your Panopto site and any attempts to upload from recording clients will result in a "Server unable to connect" message.
